The Rome Men's Softball Association will hold a league dedication ceremony for Jim Korpela on Thursday at the Haselton-Wright Sports Complex. The ceremony, which is open to the public, will begin at 5:45 p.m.
The Rome Men's Softball Association will honor Korpela by naming its Thursday Night League the "Jim Korpela League." Korpela will also receive a custom shirt and plaque honoring his 20-plus years of service and dedication to men's softball in Rome.
During his 20 years, Korpela both played and served as the president of the league and successfully managed and sustained the RMSA by helping it become the premiere adult recreational activity in the City of Rome. The league currently has over 450 participants.
