in planning stage for 2008 season The RMSA has scheduled a pair of leagues meetings that will be held at Rome City Hall inside the Common Council Chamber. The first meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 17 at 7p.m. and a second and final meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 1 at 7. All teams registering for the 2008 season are strongly encouraged to send a team representative to attend. This year’s sponsorship fee is $375 per team and full payment, along with completed copies of the team’s official team roster and liability and indemnification agreement form, must be submitted to the league by Thursday, May 1 to receive the $375 rate. The sponsorship fee after May 1 will be increased to $400 per team. The fee must be paid in full before the start of the first week of the season set to begin on Sunday May 11. Both of the upcoming meetings will touch upon a variety of key topics, including the league's new bat policy, rule changes, documentation policies and procedures, and other league developments. The league will hold its second annual RMSA Open Invitational Tournament this summer. The tournament, which is scheduled for Saturday, June 21 and Sunday, June 22, will be held in Rome at the Haselton-Wright Park Complex. The tournament entry fee is $200 per team and only the first 12 teams to fully register will secure a spot in the tourney.
